Walks of life

Ahh, I never knew wireless internet would be such a Godsend. Wow. It's so nice to be officially back. I am in my house with wireless internet in my comfy (yet broken) new red comp chair surrounded with my ocean pictures and my wonderful (and big I might add) bed. With that soft micro suede comforter (sp?) and those sweet, soft jersey knit sheets. Along with my pictures of all my good buddies. Singing along with Elton John. I mean what more could you ask for? Some people in my house tonight have been plagued with luck that could be much better. But it could be worse. It could definately always be worse.

Well it's been a long ass week already and I am ready for another weekend. Classes are going fine, I think it's going to take a lot of getting used to. Just a word to the wise. No matter how many classes you took in a row in high school there is no way you can do even close to that amount now. I thought I would be able to handle four 50 min classes in a row on M,W,F. HA! Who am I kidding. In fact, now that I think about it, I don't think I've even had four classes in a row since my sophmore year in high school. What an incompendent fool I have been. Though I must admit that one class on Tues and Thurs is pretty nice. But not nice when I feel the need to stay up until 1 in the morning eating ice cream and running around with the dog. Wow, what a stud I have become.

Well today we rode our bikes to the lake and swam in that nastyness. Let me say a few things I apparently did NOT learn how to do when I learned to swim:
1. Swim straight
2. Swim straight
3. Swim straight
So that was pretty easy. Naturally I learned everything else...
But yeah, I couldn't swim straight for the life of me. I was on the other side of the lake almost swimming into the fallen tree branches. Ew. Sickity.
Oh man I am full. Why did I feel the need to finish off all the milk right before bed? I shall never know. What I do know though is that milk was a bad choice.

I feel like things are just going around and around in circles. Seriously, when are things going to start to actually move? I am ready to go here. I am passing through the same scenery all the freaking time.
Also, if it's not already known, I am THE worst person anyone will ever meet at directions. It's starting to get damn shameful. I can't be too embarassed yet though because I am still young and naive. At least that's what I keep telling myself. I should start paying attention to things. That will be a new goal, pay attention Jessica!

It's been a good few weeks here, but I am starting to miss people back at home already. I hope I can have some visitors soon. It's rather pathetic that Katie and Jen's friends came from Wisconsion and Illinois and I haven't even had anyone come from an hour away. Boo. They better come soon. Bastards.

I would really like to go to the CU CSU game, but I think tickets are sold out here. That's the rumor. And I don't think I could just go there and hope to buy some in the CSU section for a decent price. But that would be fun to go and party there that weekend. I'll think about it. Or see what's going on. Who really knows. Who cares anyway. I am boring myself once again. Damn, I hate when that happens. I feel so uncreative. Man, I am full. WTF.
Fine, since I have to get up at 6:30 for a stupid lifting meeting, I guess I will go to bed. But I won't like it! I couldn't fall asleep last night until like 4 in the morning. This whole school thing is giving me anxiety. I don't like it one bit.

In closing I would like to leave some tips I have learned since I have become a proud home owner:
-It probably isn't a good idea to water the lawn for two hours straight
-Leaving ANYTHING out on the counter is fair game for everyone. Including the dog. These items might include loaves of bread, ice cream, plastic cups and other things of that nature.
-Locking all doors is crutial. Although sometimes you have to turn the keys upside down, backwards, inside out, etc...
-Close the damn windows in the blistering heat of day.
-Corn husks cook on the grill quick. Don't forget about them because they will be burnt to a crisp.
-It's always good to have a roommate who is willing to spend two hours setting up wireless internet (Good job, Jen).
-Gaint cutting knives are used more than you think. It's a good idea to keep some handy.
-Tools are also used more than you might think. It's always good to go buy some.
-Doing the dishes is not fun. Especially when you have trouble loading the dishwasher.
-Just because you ride your bike across the street to school doesnt mean you shouldn't fear for your life. Shields is a bitch to cross.
-When you go up three flights of stairs to class, that usually means you need to come down three flights to be back on the ground. That's always a helpful tip.
-Apparently dogs like fish food. Who woulda thunk?
-Recycling is a good idea, just make sure you have something to put them in before having to hall them all outside to the bin.
-Sometimes the Super card at Kings doesn't do anything at all for you.
-Never say no when someone offers to pay for all your groceries.
-Campus cash is actually very convienent.
-If the water pressure is pounding on your back it's probably set to the massage option. The next step is to figure out how to change it back.
-Parties with trampolines are always a good time.
-2 am walks to the sub place is not always a good time.
-No matter how padded your bike is, your ass is still going to hurt like a bitch.
-Don't ever think your 55 year old swim coach won't swim in a lake with a red speedo. Because he will.
-Couch slip covers do just that. They slip. Everywhere.
-Watching your TV when it's sitting on the ground is much better than having no TV at all.
-Running around campus at night is a good workout and is pretty fun. Until you stop. That's when it hurts the most.
-What is the point of floating in the fetal position at practice for a half an hour?
-If you have a new teacher who is really boring, don't hesitate to fall asleep in their class. They will be too shy to say anything to you.
-Hot green floor mats look fine with brown tile. They actually look like they are beginning to match.
-Bananas are the quickest fruit to be eaten. At least at my house.
-It's always a good idea not to get too friendly with the neighbors the first night you meet them. Because then you're just in for awkardness after that.
-Make sure you shower first. Otherwise all the hot water will be gone.
-Spatulas melt quick. Don't use them to get cookies off a hot pan.
-Your landlord will always be happy when you pay him rent on time. And even more so when you pay him more.
-If there is a hole in your wall just find a creative way to cover it up.

Ok, that's all I would like to say for now. I am going to go to bed. Ahh, bed. Ok goodnight.

I forgot to put this one in. Ha ha.  Posted by Picasa

Welcome back

Well I am back after a nice relaxing summer. Right now I am at a local coffee shop since we don't have internet at our house until Wednesday. This week has been a little hectic, yet a little relaxed. I moved in on Monday and I was so incredibly excited. We got all my stuff in my room and it looked perfect. It was exactly how I wanted it. Maybe a little too big of a room, and definately too nice for a college student, but I'm not just any old student. I am top of the line--as good as they get. So I am excited to live with the girls, we've had nothing but fun, and I know it was a good choice on my part to do this. We also have a fifth roommate, Clyde, who has been keeping us company as well as helping us finish off our food. And the fish's food.

I had a really nice week, and I don't want to start school tomorrow. Or ever really. But I can't deny it, it has to happen eventually. Before I moved up I went to Vail with Chris, Nathan and Jimmy and it was beautiful. When I get my printer set up I am going to scan them in. I don't think I could have asked for anything else this summer--I did everything I wanted and more.

In a few weeks the girls and I are going to meet some people to go camping in Boulder, which should be fun. Practice starts this week, and I am not excited at all. But we are probably going to ride to horsetooth and swim in the resivoir which is much better than swimming continious laps in the pool. We've had company here all weekend and it is so nice to have everyone gone. It was fun, but it's exhausting.

I was so ready to come back. I did get sad, but it was time to have some time away from everyone and everything. I still can't wait until people come to visit, but the no parent thing was desperately needed. So all in all it was a good week and living in my own house should be an invigorating experience. Just kidding, that sounds like a paper. I am a freak. Ok, well I am going to go beacause this is giving me carpel tunnel and I am hot as hades. Freaking A it's hot in here. Mother F.

So these picts are from our horseback riding trip, our trip to Denver and just laying around the house. Enjoy!
Goodnight.
